Grey map of South Africa with pink routes between cities

Fibre has become the major form of connectivity across the globe. More and more cities, towns, suburbs and communities in South Africa are getting access to fibre optic networks every week. It provides users with reliable high-speed access to the internet at ever more affordable prices.

WonderNet has partnered with several leading fibre network operators (FNOs) that own the fibre optic infrastructure, including our parent company, SEACOM. This allows us to maximise our reach and offer our fibre packages to a wider range of customers across South Africa. The rollout of fibre connectivity is expanding at a rapid rate.

If you’re not yet connected to fibre, chances are that it will be available to you soon. The easiest way to see if fibre is available in your area is to use a network coverage map, which many FNOs and internet service providers (ISPs) have on their websites. WonderNet is no exception and our coverage map makes it easy for you to choose an affordable package.

How to use our coverage map

First, you’ll need to visit our homepage and decide whether you want fibre for your home or to your business. These options are colour coded for easy use; pink for home internet and blue for business internet. In these boxes, you’ll see a shaded field that says “Check if we are connected to your address”. Simply type your street address into this field and find it on the suggested list that will pop up.

Once you click on your address, it will take you to our coverage map, which will start searching for FNOs in your area. After a few seconds, you’ll be told whether or not WonderNet can offer you any packages. If fibre is available in your area, you can then choose a package that suits your needs or click on the black box that says “Help me choose”.

This will take you to a question page where you can answer several questions based on what you need the internet for. Depending on your answers and needs, we’ll suggest the best package that suits your budget. Getting connected is as easy as that. You can sign up on the spot and be connected to leading fibre internet in no time.

What if there is no fibre in my area?

Our coverage is pretty extensive across South Africa, but there are some small towns and remote regions which do not have fibre infrastructure yet. If this is the case where you live, you’ll be told upon searching for your address. There are two options; you can either search for another address or ask to be emailed when fibre becomes available in your area.

The second option allows you to be notified as soon as one of our FNO partners sets up a fibre network in your area. You’ll then be able to search our coverage map again and find the right internet package for your needs. For more information about our fibre offerings or to get a quote for an internet upgrade, please contact us today or check if we’re connected to your address.
